Is it just better to leave girls alone when they are crying or should you comfort them?

I hate seeing a girl cry or just plainly anyone cry. Idk it's just like when i see them cry, my heart sinks (literally feels like when you're going down a roller coaster). So is it better not to get in their business or should you try to comfort them?
