1994 ford aspire brake disc?

I removed the disc brake caliper and the the drive axle hub nut but the brake disc ( rotor ) will not come off. Hayes Repair Manual says it just pulls off but it isn't. I tapped the drive axle and it is loose so it's not stopping nothing. Do I need a puller? Thank you for your time.
