Texturizing hair ←?

I am going to get my hair cut again, and this time I want to thin it out some more.The last time I went to my salon I asked her about thinning shears, and she said "Oh no that will damagae your hair, I will use this technique called texturizing." But I dont know what she did, so if anyone can tell me that would be great ( : .Btw, she said she would try texturizing out on me,and then if I liked it to come back,and she will do some more.
