Airplane restrictions - can I bring this food onboard?

I live in Seattle and will be vising family across the state. I would like to be able to bring them a couple of fresh form the Pike Place Market. I usually ony have carry-ons to save time. Am I able to take crab on the plane? Ususualy it's wrapped in paper in plastic, but of course it can be x-rayed.
